VersionOne project for Chugach Electric

DrillDown is the name of a software application that two TenFold Speed Team staff along with two Chugach staff – an IT professional and a business professional – designed, built, tested, and demonstrated within Chugach. The DrillDown project took 10 working days. The Speed Team started work one Monday morning, demonstrated the DrillDown application to a group of stakeholders the following Monday afternoon, listed ideas for improvement, and at the end of the second week demonstrated the finished application as you see it in the movie. Chugach was thrilled with the application and felt that it met all their requirements, even though they had no design or requirements document at the start of the project. Chugach originally estimated it would take two people one year to do requirements, figure out all the interfaces, and build the application using traditional software development methods. But, the SpeedTeam did it 25 times faster…in two elapsed weeks.

DrillDown lets a cost center manager sign-on and look at budget data for any time period and cost center, along side actual expenses. Then with button clicks the manager can drill down to see the exact detail of any actual expense. DrillDown automatically integrates data from Chugach’s PeopleSoft General Ledger, Indus Utility Systems, and a Chugach-built budgeting system.
